Oakleaf slipped out of camp easily. He was done with his duties that he was assigned for that day. The greenleaf heat was all around him, as he padded along the territory. It was rich and green and wet, even with the heat. Though this was something the tom was used too usually in greenleaf it would get drier in some parts of Riverclan territory. His bright green eyes stood out from the rest of his medium brown pelt. His tail was swishing as he padded long on hitting the reeds around him. He headed away from the wetness and the longer he moved the drier his paws were. It was because he was heading in a direction that he hadn't in a while. Ever since Feathercloud said that the leader had punished her for staying out after she wasn't supposed to. The large rusty tom wasn't the one to follow the rules usually he was one of those cats that was just out there. But he couldn't risk it this time. But he had to see her again. The brown tom just hoped that she did too.
The last time he saw the Shadowclan she-cat was at a gathering. One that he was particularly nervous for, but they had made it out okay. Well he just hopped that nobody noticed them, but since it hadn't been brought up and with Oakleaf's flirting reputation he knew that it wouldn't be likely that anyone would have noticed anything. But the large tom just made a mental note to himself to talk to some other she-cats or from some other clan the next gathering. He just then noticed the change in scent. Blinking is clear green eyes, he smiled slightly. The air had a pine scent to it, that means that he was close to his destination. He was glad that he was because some shade would be nice for the tom. His longer fur and it being brown meant that he was starting to get hot. It was actually the perfect day to go for a swim but unfortunally for him he wasn't going to be swimming. Or maybe he was if he didn't catch her at the border.
Approaching the border the Riverclan warrior slowed down slightly, maybe he should have come up with a plan. He didn't really know what to do at this point. Tasting the air the tom did not smell any patrol near by. He just then had and idea. The tom just confidently crossed the boarder. He just found a patch of needles from the pine trees rolling in them he made sure to leave his scent on the ground thats when he started moving down the boarder on the Riverclan side, heading towards the lake. Everyone and a while he would step over on the Shadowclan side. After moving about half way to the lake the tom just stopped and sat down on the Riverclan side in the sun.

T he pale red striped tabby Shadowclan warrior stalked through Shadowclan's territory, a blank expression on her face. She often volunteered to make solo patrols whether for hunting or patrolling, which wasn't unusual. Sandslash wasn't the most social cat in Shadowclan, but she wasn't completele anti social either. Sandslash wanted to make trips alone around the territory in order "to check to make sure a certain Riverclan tom was staying put on his own side of the border." Or at least that's what she told herself stubbornly. The other voice in the back of her mind pointed out that it was the duty of any Shadowclan warrior to check the borders and make sure they were free of intruders, and Sandslash knew it was right, and the reasoning on the surface of her mind was merely an excuse. She wanted to be the only one to meet him should he get the idea in his mind to visit any time soon. Sandslash took a widely curved route west from the camp, then slowly turning south until it came alongside the border. She did this often, so she didn't want to make it seem too obvious that she had an interest in going straight to the Riverclan border every time she left camp. Her scent would linger on the path she took from constant use, clear as day where she was going regularly. Sandslash sometimes switched up the routes, going east from the camp towards the lake, and walking along the shore until she was patroling Riverclan's border out from the water. Today was warm and there was still plenty of light left in the sky, though sun-high had since passed. Sandslash came upon the Riverclan border, and staying legally on her side, immediately detected the fresh scent of another cat, the very one she had almost half been expecting every day since. Every day...? Sandslash only just now realized she had been devoutly checking this border every single day. Did she really want to see him that much? As her thoughts tumbled along, she suddenly felt a strong sense of longing to see the tom from a rival clan that she hadn't seen since the Gathering. Sandslash shook her head, not understanding why it emotionally pained her, how much she wanted to follow Oakleaf's scent. Her pace quickened, and with mixed feelings, she didn't argue with what her paws wanted to do. The scent of Riverclan was so obviously fresh, and it seemed to casually weave across the border and back several times. Then, as the lake came nearer into sight, Sandslash saw the brown Riverclan tom to whom the scent trail she was following belonged to. Instinctively, she straightened up and marched up towards him, pausing right at the border. "You." Sandslash almost coughed out her greeting, her tough, Shadowclan warrior exterior battling with the side of her that just wanted to call his name happily. Forcing herself to release the edge from her voice, she calmed down a bit and meowed, "What on earth were you doing back there, dancing on the border?" Sandslash decided to drop the oblivious act soon after, and with a nervous glance back at the rest of Shadowclan territory to see if anyone was watching, she turned looked back at Oakleaf and mewed softly. "I haven't seen you since the Gathering...Oakleaf. But still, you really shouldn't cross the border so carelessly." Sandslash couldn't hold back the need to scold him again though, since her strong loyalty to her clan had trained her to present a defensive attitude to outsiders.

Oakleaf just curled his tail around his paws. He was sitting once again on the Riverclan border. He just thought back to what he had just done, it was pretty risky that was for sure. He just flicked his ears listening to the world around him. He hope that the cat would be Sandslash, because if some other Shadowclan warrior found the trail he would be attacked. Which he would knew he deserved but he had a gut feeling it was going to be Sandslash. His green eyes stared off into the pine forest for quite some time. He couldn't believe that he was still here, that his mind was still on her. It was odd because Oakleaf was a loyal Riverclan warrior, he would always be but for some reason Sandslash was like no other she-cat that he had ever met. She was so closed off it was a real challenge for him to break down that wall which he usually had an easy time with. But with her it was different he had felt like he had gotten no where close to getting to know her.
The scent of Shadowclan hit him before he knew what it was. He could tell that there wasn't many probably just one warrior. He found himself tensing up just waiting for the attack to happen. He just moved his bright green eyes across the pine forest undergrowth. He needed to see who it was. He hoped that it was her, if it wasn't he would for sure be in trouble. He just thought about how he could still be in trouble if it was Sandslash but then again she hadn't told Shadowclan about his first visit and well at the gathering he could tell that she didn't want too. But that was the last time he saw the pale red striped tabby she-cat. He just then heard a rustle in the undergrowth and the scent of Shadowclan just hit him with full force. Narrowing his eyes he watched as the form of the cat he was hopping to see storm straight up to him. He just let out a breath that he had been holding and just didn't even lean back as she came up to the border. He just watched as the sunlight danced off of her pelt as she just stopped not even crossing the border.
He could tell that she was holding up a wall one that he was planning on breaking right now. He just noticed that she coughed out the words 'You.' He didn't know if that was a good thing or a bad thing. He just blinked his eyes and tilted his head slightly to the left. He watched her as the next words seemed to not be so cold. Which was the total opposite than they were the first time he had met the Shadowclan she-cat. He just found himself smiling down at her. But he threw a cheesy smile at her and chuckled slightly under his breath. "I had to get your attention some how. Which is quite hard to do, but you so loyal I knew you wouldn't be able to resist the urge to attack someone." Then he just watched as she seemed to look back towards Shadowclan border. He just looked off into the trees for a moment before bringing his gaze down at the she-cat in front of him.
"No, Sandslash. And its been to long." Then he just smirked and shrugged slightly, "I do have to admit that it was a bit careless of me but I guess it was a risk worth taking." Then he just winked at her. His green eyes sparkling in the sunlight.
