something deep inside of him knew that he would never find his mother. he had been searching hard for four moons, with no scent to go off of, and only within the confines of shadowclan territory. someone else might've given up by now, decided that she was gone for good, never to be seen again, but flamestorm refused to let that idea swoop in and settle. he had too much to prove by bringing her back. first, he would silence his brother and sister, and he would finally confront raggedstar. the massive ginger tabby knew that raggedstar was not the one to exile juniperleap, but he could always remove the exile and let her return. flamestorm hoped above all else that that would be the case. now, all he had to do was find her.
he had started on the northern most section of shadowclan territory, searching for her scent from memory alone. from there he had wandered around the abandoned two-leg nest, and now he knew that he was getting dangerously close to thunderclan's border. just being near the squirrel eaters made his paws itch for a good fight. it had been far too long, in his opinion, since he had ripped into some thunder flesh. but was he really willing to put his tail on the line just so that he would get into some fight with a flea bitten thunderclanner? the question weighed heavily on his mind for only a moment, before he shrugged it off and went back to his tracking. keeping his right ear to the border, he began tracking, though, not very well. ----------- tags: @open to both shadow and thunder

L O N G T A I L x - warrior - x The white she-cat moved calmly through the thick forest with unfocused eyes as she lost herself in her thoughts. The temperature was cool beneath the shadows of the large trees that hung over head, the grass was short and soft under her rough paws. Longtail's mind was focused on the story of the battle between Shadowclan and Thunderclan - she'll never forgive those rats for such an unnecessary battle, she knew that they had lost their leader in the battle but they deserved a bigger punishment in Longtail's eyes. The white she-cat was so lost in her own thoughts that she ignored the twitching bushes and the scuffling of prey as they crossed the forest floor.
Due to her concentration being else wear, Longtail tripped over a raised tree root causing her to tumble onto her back into the disturbed earth coating her clean pelt with dark pieces of dirt. Pulling herself up with an angry, turning to clean her dirty pelt before she caught the sour stench of the Shadowclan border which made her blood boil at the thought that one of Raggedstars warrior could've caught her. She had removed a large majority of the muck bringing her pelt back to white colour with slight discoloration on her white paw, before she heard the paw steps of another cat. She was closer to the border than she thought, getting to her paws and running toward the biggest bush near the border.
The gaps in the leafy bush made it easy for her to spot the brightly coloured ginger and white tom moving slowly on the other side of the border - too close to the border for her liking. She suppressed a hiss knowing that if she caused trouble with a warrior who hadn't crossed the border could not only get her in trouble, but give Shadowclan another reason to attack - not that Thunderclan couldn't defend themselves and beat those rats within moments. She knew the tom would hear her if she moved to leave, and he'd soon scent her and know he was being watched as the breeze was against her. The lithe she cat moved from the large bush with grace toward the border, the trees were not thick her which allowed the soft light from the sky hit her angular face with a satisfying heat before her spoke. "I hope you're not planning to cross this border." she spoke lightly, as if she didn't really care in an attempt to hide her dislike for the Shadowclan cat, her blue eyes narrowed in an intense gaze as she tried to figure out what the tom was up to.

with all of his senses on high alert, it almost shocked him into a stupor when he heard something coming from just within the thunderclan border. snapping his head up, his large eyes narrowed and he tried to catch a glimpse of the culprit. if it was a clumsy piece of prey, he figured he would simply wait it out and see if it crossed the border onto his territory. cocking his head to the side, he listened to the sounds of the forest for a moment before shrugging it off. he wasn't doing anything wrong, in the off chance that it was a thunderclan patrol, but considering the lack of noise they had made, he chalked it up to him simply hearing a vole or something. turning is attention back to the task at hand, flamestorm opened his mouth to scent the wind and he was no longer complacent about what was moving in the trees. the scent markers were definitely there, and only hours old, but this scent was much stronger. his ears fell to his head, and the pale orange lip curled over his teeth. if this cat wanted to start something, then he was more than ready to oblige.
from his vantage point, he still could not see the creature in question, and it made his paws itch. he didn't like not knowing what was going on, and he was almost 100% certain that there was only one cat skulking around the border. straining his eyes to see if he could spot the thunderclanner, he caught a flash of white through a bush, and he only had to wait a few heart beats before she made herself known. flamestorm straightened a little more, and he puffed out his chest. the snarl on his lips disappeared, and a malicious look overwhelmed his yellow eyes. a smirk found its way onto his face, and he cocked an eyebrow at the she-devil. he kept his mouth shut as he regarded her. she was a pretty little thing, lithe, with angular features. the sun shining on her face only enhanced the angles of her face. it made him sick. flicking his whiskers, he contemplated how to answer her. a sly smile replaced the smirk.
"i could say the same thing to you, thunderclanner." he said coolly. if she wanted to play it that way, well, he had no problem returning the favour. she didn't look all that threatening, he was easily twice her size, but he did know from experience that smaller cats were usually pretty tactical. she would definitely beat him on that front. then again, no one said that it would end in a fight. but he really hoped it would. it had been too long since he had fought anything other than his own demons, and they weren't nearly as satisfying. "tell me, what's a pretty thing doing out here all by her lonesome, little lady?" he asked sweetly, though his eyes were still hard as he sized her up.

L O N G T A I L x - warrior - x Her sharp blue eyes watched the flame coloured tom cat turn to look at her matching her cool expression. The she-cats long brown tipped tail hung down curling at the tip daring not to move it, not wanting to show her unbearable annoyance for the Shadowclan cats at this moment. His words were just a calm as her own which made her skin burn with annoyance just by the sound of his voice. She stood a few steps away from the border and was tempted to pounce across and pin the smug tom with all of her weight to prove that Thunderclan would always be better, and stronger than the weak Shadowclan cats who fought in the shadows of their territory using sly tactics that were demonstrated by the late Icestar whos death she refused to mourn, she expected Raggedstar to have no honor and continue to steal territory from the other clans. She narrowed her eyes at the muscular warrior knowing that if they were to battle he would out match her in strength, but maybe not in speed, she planned out an attack that she wanted to use but wouldn't dare. Although Longtail had a furious hate for the rats of that clan she had no intentions of giving Howlingstar or the warriors of Thunderclan a bad name, though if he were to attack her, she would quite happily show him her skills.
Her ears twitched at the sound of his voice that made her sick to her stomach, "pretty little thing," she suppressed a hiss in reply to his patronizing words. Stepping a paw forward and tilting her head slightly making her body look slender and attractive as though she was just a pretty little she-cat who couldn't defend herself. "Who says this pretty little thing is alone?" she mewed with a sweet voice, flicking her tail back to the depths of the forest, knowing that the strong scents of the trees and plants would do well enough to disguise a warriors scent, especially with how far away the tom was from the trees, or at least she hoped it would. "I could ask the same thing of you," she mewed with an innocent voice curling her tail tip upward so that it faced the clouds, her blue eyes giving off a calm gaze as if she held no grudge against the cat. Longtail refused to relax her small muscles hidden behind the smooth pelt similar to that of a Riverclan cats fur, she remained prepared with firm footing in case the tom decided to spring with her claws hidden behind soft paws that pushed into the disturbed earth for a firm gripping.

tilting his head to the side slightly, flamestorm couldn't help but feel slightly impressed by the she-cats stoic demeanour. he didn't think it was easy for a cat of her size to stand in his intimidating presence and hardly bat an eye, and yet, the evidence was a thunderclan warrior staring him down from the safety of her own territory. not many cats in his own clan were able to do that. she had guts, and he admired that quality in any cat, no matter what clan, even if it was a lowly squirrel eating thunderclanner. the only time she moved, he noted, was when he spoke; a slight twitch of the ears. interesting. he thought with a slight grin of amusement replacing the smirk. the movement of her body, the way it elongated her slender frame made his eyebrows rise a fair amount, and he tried not to gawk at the pretty she-cat, the result of his last encounter with a thunderclan femme apparently trickling from his memory. however, he found himself tensing at her comment and despite his hardest efforts, he couldn't help but look past her into the trees. with the thicket behind her, there could very well be other warriors lying in wait for the perfect moment. the direction of wind was on his side, but all he could catch was the forest. it only made him more apprehensive about whether she truly was alone. flamestorm did not like feeling this way. a small fire had been lit in his gut, threatening. to consume him.
"considering i am not, and have not, set a foot on your territory, your question is unprecedented." he replied simply, shrugging his shoulders. he wasn't lying, she could take a walk along the border and find that the scent markers had not been disturbed. he had an inkling that she wasn't smart enough to do that though. her body language did not suggest any kind of aggression, what with her tail in the air and curled at the tip, and a calm gaze, but flamestorm couldn't help but feel more uncomfortable and vulnerable. if there was in fact a whole patrol of thunderclan cats hiding in the trees, he would be in big trouble. this she-cat would be no problem for him - that he was sure of - but a whole patrol? even flamestorm wasn't dumb enough to face them alone. taking a deep breath, he exhaled all the air from his lungs and on the next intake, he chuckled. "would you believe me if i told you i was hoping for one of thunderclan's squirrels to wander over here? or that i was waiting for a thunderclanner to come wandering this way so that i could have a nice, long heart-to-heart with them?" aggravation had crept into his voice as he finished with the last rhetorical question, and it began to overwhelm his features. he could not, and would not, entertain this thunderclan wench for any longer than absolutely necessary. his initial attraction to her had been replaced with a repulsion that fueled the fire that had ignited, and with each passing second, it was becoming harder to resist the urge to silence her.

L O N G T A I L The white she cat moved toward the border with graceful steps, her long slender body rocking at the hips as her hind legs moved to take the next step leaving her a few lengths from the scent line. Her figure displayed nothing but confidence with her long legs held neatly beside one another making her body look elongated an attractive. Longtail often used her unique looks to distract toms so she could size them up or make a quick decision on the situation. Her blue eyes narrowed as the red toned warrior tensed at her comment, a feeling of satisfaction ran from the tip of her ears to her spotted tail that lay relaxed behind her legs. She found herself admiring his fire red coat mimicking that of a flame that could terrorize the forested area with it's strength and heat, 'For a Shadowclan rat, he isn't the worst to look at.' she thought with curiousity, there were few coats who burned such a pigmented colour that was just shades more intense than that of orange pelted cats.
"Would you believe me if I told you I was hoping for one of Thunderclan's squirrels to wander over here? or that I was waiting for a Thunderclanner to come wandering this way so that I could have a nice, long heart-to-heart with them?" Her dappled ears twitched with interest, it was obviously rhetorical and how is tone changed at the end of his question that the tom was become fed up with her and Longtail hoped to Starclan he would do something so he could finally push her claws into Shadowclan flesh in return for stealing the land that was rightfully Thunderclans. Her eyes narrowed with her heart racing quicker at the thought of a possible battle between the pair though she remained in her calm position with her head raised displaying her angular face in the sun with her intensely blue eyes softening slightly before she spoke in a sweet and calm voice. "I wouldn't put it past you to take a squirrel that made it's home in Thunderclan." her tail moved in a slow and calm way before she continued, "And here I was thinking you wanted to tell me all your secrets and problems. I'm hurt, truly." she mewed dramatically her espression turning to a pout as she moved closer to the border so close that if she were to move forward once more she'd be outside her territory. She moved along the border staying just within the line at a slow pace following the tom with her eyes, back and forth as though she was waiting for a challenge. "Warriors at Thunderclan are good at listening, around you sure you don't want to confess anything to me?" she mewed with an amused voice, loosing her composure at the end of the question with a small chuckle at the absurdity of the situation. From pacing the border line she could tell that the red rat a few steps away from her had told the truth, no cat had cross the border on that day. Disappointment burned deep in her stomach, 'How did I manage to run into the only Shadowclan cat who wouldn't cross a border?' she thought irritated at the tom for following some rules.
