APPEARANCE,Kestrelwing is a beautiful she-cat in a sort of average way. If she hadn't of taken the path of a medicine cat, then she would have made a beautiful queen with lovely litters. Alas, that future could never be, not for her.
Appearance || Kestrelwing is a medium sized brown Bengal. In fact, most of everything about her is medium or average. One thing that isn't is that she has a sort of defect that makes her legs swing out wider than other cats when she trots or runs.
Coat || Her pelt is short with, yup, you guessed it, medium thickness so the winds on the moors don't bother her too much.
Coloring || Kestrelwing is a brown Bengal with black markings. She started out as a rusty, ruddy, reddish brown color that faded some over time. As she got older, her underbelly started to acquire a creamy look to it. Her black markings consist of stripes on her face and head, neck, legs, tail and even a few running the length of her back. The rest are a mixture of arrowhead rosettes and paw-print rosette that cover her back and sides. There is absolutely no white on her, just the creamy like color on her belly and throat.
Eyes || Her eyes are really quite beautiful if their own way. On the outer edge of her iris is a pale, pale yellow, the inside being a pale green. Sometimes the two blend together, sometimes you can clearly see them apart and other times one color will leach into the other until only one remains.

PERSONALITY,Kestrelwing is a serene cat, always has been. Her voice is quiet, soft, and soothing, which helps when a cat is in distress. She's never felt the need to know more about the life outside of the Windclan camp, but she does love to run when no one is looking. Normally, when she goes out to get herbs, she'll do it alone so she can run without anyone giving her sympathetic looks. She loves to run because she loves the feel of the wind coursing through her fur, loves all the smells it brings to her, and loves how free it is.
In camp she is always quiet and kind but you will hardly ever see her without a smile upon her maw. Her favorite past times are being curled up in her nest, giving the elders company (she still loves their stories), running, and watching any of the kits that happen to be in the nursery at the moment. She takes great care of the queens, making sure they have enough to eat, giving them a break from the kits for a while if they need it, and making sure all of them are healthy.
Some of the only warriors she will keep a conversation up with are her cousins: Mintfeather and Cloudfang, her mother and Coalfur, and the deputy and leader.
Kestrelwing has a soft laugh that is normally heard when she is keeping kits company while their mothers stretch their legs outside of the nursery. Her pale eyes are always full of happiness and some have wondered if she has ever had a bad day. She has, but she normally tries to look at the positives of everything though some things do tend to get her down, a cat in the clan that died, a prophecy or dream that upsets her, or her not being able to help a cat.

FAMILY
- MOTHER: Fawnstep - a blue spotted Bengal with pale green eyes.
- FATHER: Blueclaw - a pure grey tom with bright blue eyes.
- STEPFATHER: Coalfur - a black tom with a tad bit of white on his paws and blue eyes.
- AUNT: Honeyflower - a long furred, light beige she-cat with darker brown spots like a leopard along her body and darker brown stripes on her. (Fawnstep's sister)
- UNCLE: Foxwhisker - dark brownish red tabby tom with lighter fur on his chin, throat, chest, and belly and has sky blue eyes. (Honeyflower's mate)
- COUSINS: Mintfeather - a lithe, short coated snow bengal she-cat with pale green, almost silver, eyes.

HISTORY,Kestrelwing was the only kit of Fawnstep and Blueclaw. She was also born in the dead of leaf-bare. Her parents and the medicine cat thought she was dead at first because she didn't mewl. When Fawnstep curled around her "dead" kit, Kestrel instantly moved for the milk and warmth of her mother, surprising them all. Since she was the only kit in the nursery at the time, there weren't even any other queens in the nursery, she stayed next to her mother's side all the time, except when her mother left to get some exercise then her aunt, Honeyflower, would come in and keep her company. Kestrelwing hardly ever saw her father, he was too busy being a warrior to focus on his kit. It was fine because a friend of her mother's came in often enough to see them than Kestrel started to see Coalfur as her father. When Kestrelwing was about five moons, her mother started to take her out of the nursery, showing her around. The kit didn't show much interest in anything or anyone other than the elders. She loved hearing their stories. After that, you could find her in one of three places, the nursery, the elders den, or sitting in a spot in the middle of the camp, facing toward the wind with her eyes closed. She loved the feel of the wind through her fur and all the smells that came with it.
It wasn't until after Kestrelwing was made an apprentice that the other cats realized there was something wrong with her hind legs. She didn't notice it, but when her mentor made her run, she lagged behind, no matter how hard she tried. Her mother and mentor were worried so they had the old medicine cat, Nightleaf, take a look at her. He had ran a paw over Kestrel's back and when he got to a point between the middle of her back and the base of her tail, she couldn't help but shy away from his paw. She claimed to feel no pain but the pressure, even just a little, made her shy away from it. The old tom watched Kestrel run and said she could never hunt like that. She would never catch anything. Nightleaf said she had to become an elder because she couldn't become a warrior and he couldn't take her on as his apprentice since he had Moonpaw. With no other choice, Kestrel had to do it. She received her warrior name because the leader didn't think it was fair to leave her with an apprentice's name when she was technically an elder.
After her father, Blueclaw, had found out that his only kit wasn't going to be a warrior like him, he got angry and blamed the handicap on Fawnstep. They were no longer mates after that and Coalfur was there to help Fawnstep pick up the pieces. After several moons, Kestrelwing found out Coalfur and Fawnstep were finally mates.
Kestrelwing was in the elders den for moons, and even then she didn't tire of hearing their stories. She would often be found curled up in her nest, at the nursery if there were any kits, or going out for a walk out of the camp. When Nightleaf died, Stormstar and Mooneye both saw signs from Starclan that Kestrelwing was destined to be the next Medicine Cat Apprentice, so Mooneye took her for his apprentice. She was a quick study.
She doesn't have many regrets against becoming a medicine cat, other than not being able to run and feel the wind in her fur and not being able to have kits of her own. She just adores other kits. Kestrel became overjoyed at the news that her mother was going to be having Coalfur's kits.
