Creampaw - 678 Words As the light of dawn slowly creeped into camp, it wasn't long before the rays reached the nursery. The previous night had been quite a cold one, and had many a cats huddling together. In one bed of the nursery lie three cats, two females and a male, two kits an an apprentice. Wait, an apprentice? That was actually normal, especially in the past few weeks. It had been almost two moons since the death of her own littermate, since she had received two important surprises. If one were to look at Creampaw just two moons ago, and then see her today...they would be completely baffled. This she-cat had gone from being reckless and troublesome, constantly aggravating others...to being....motherly. Yes, she still could be troublesome and knew how to aggravate others but at this point it wasn't with as much malice as it once was. She felt like she belonged more. The two kits brought to her, had literally become her kits. As far as they were concerned and anyone else, she was their mother. They were not her brother and sister, they were her kits. Her sister had brought them to her and had trusted her with them, wanting exactly this to happen. And if she could do one thing, one last request from her sister, she had done it. Her whole life now revolved around the kits. Her training wasn't put on hold, she just trained when she could. It would probably mean that the kits would be apprentices before she became a warrior, but that was fine with her. They needed her, and she didn't absolutely need to be a warrior. Creampaw had not necessarily moved into the nursery full time, but she and the kits spent their time in the nursery. She wasn't going to take them to the apprentice area, it wasn't as protected as the nursery and Creampaw was nervous to have them not protected. It was her job to protect them and leaving them in the open at such a young age was not a bright idea. What Creampaw did not expect was the bond she had formed with the kits. They were always with her, constantly by her side and her little mini-mi was always trying to sneak out of camp. Aspenkit was just like her, and it somewhat scared her. Hopefully she wouldn't be as reckless and get hurt. She loved the two kits like no one else could imagine, and was highly protective of them just like any queen would be. One of the other queens in the nursery had been nursing the two kits, and now Creampaw was slowly getting them into eating fresh-kill. It was a slow process but it would mean that she wouldn't have to rely on anyone else, and it would just be her and the kits. With a yawn, the off-white furred apprentice slowly stretched her paws as she awoke. The two little bundles of fur were nestled deep in her fur. This is how she woke up every morning, and she found herself smiling. Not too long after she woke up, she felt something stirring beside her. Looks like the kit who really could be her daughter (if we were to go on looks and personality) had decided she had slept enough. Aspenkit had blinked her eyes up and now was grinning. Creampaw gave the kit a quick lick on the head before motioning with her head to go out of the nursery. Grabbing the tom by the scruff, she made her way outside, with Aspenkit right on her paws. Today was the day she would introduce the kits to the clan, let them really see what went on each day. Her brother was still fast asleep, but Aspenkit was awake and alert, already bouncing eagerly on her paws. She was especially excited to show them where she normally slept at night, before they came along, and where they would be sleeping in the near future.

Maplepaw was lying in the center of the clearing, calmly grooming herself. Her long, rabbit-like white legs stuck out straight in the air as she rasped her tongue over her muscular thighs. She, like the other Windclan cats, warriors and apprentices alike, slept in the clearing every night except when it rained or snowed, right beneath Silverpelt. She had woken up before the others to groom herself before she was either ordered out on another apprentice's chore by another warrior. She hoped however that she would get to go training, but besides the honor of being the leader's apprentice, one could only expect it to be hard to have more training time than the other apprentices whose mentors were warriors. Her round brown eyes flicked in the direction of movement and soft noises, and she dipped her head in greeting to Creampaw, the apprentice who was currently serving as a queen. "Good morning, Creampaw. How are the kits?" She mewed with a friendly, cheerful tone.
ooc: I have to rewrite Maplepaw's personality section; it makes her seem psycho when she's really kinda normal except when she gets into the thick of drama. XD words: 174 tags: dylan aka Creampaw/Aspenkit

Sandpaw just curled her tail around her nose. Her long lean body shivered slightly, her mind wheeling. She ran forward and skidded to a stop at the top of a hill the breeze tried to ruffle her short light colored pelt. Her pale blue almost gray eyes seemed to scan the area around her for a fimilar black pelt. Her old mentors black pelt to be excat but she couldn't find it. But she looked out at the lake and he almost seemed to appear next to her chuckling slightly at her choice of words. But when she looked at him she knew this wasn't real. The old deputy was gone. This is just a dream. Her mind told her and she just watched the tom fade away as her body and mind started to wake up. She opened her eyes. Her body was in a tight ball and the light was shining in the sky. The 8 moon old apprentice seemed to uncurl her body slowly and laying on he side she stretched out her legs. Then she relaxed and laid there for a moment. Today was another day. When Swiftspirit had passed the apprentice didn't know what to think. Of course the new deputy was Yellowivy a smaller female warrior. Sandpaw really didn't her to get chosen by the leader Stormstar. Sandpaw only knew that she was a fun killer, and that the deputy tended to not like anything younger than warriors. She just then yawned and rolled to her paws.
Standing up the large she-cat just flicked her tail slightly. I'm not late for training am I? she asked herself. But she thought back to yesterday and determined that she wasn't late for training. Her new mentor was Cloudfang he was a fine mentor but she still missed her old mentor. They got along so well and he understood her personality. Cloudfang on the other hand she didn't know him well enough to see if she was enjoying he training. But she would find out soon. The large she-cat then sat down and started grooming her light ginger pelt. Thats when she noticed movement out of the corner of her eyes. Her pale blue gaze looked up and noticed that Maplepaw the leader's apprentice was moving towards Creampaw. Another apprentice. Sandpaw just narrowed her eyes at the kits that followed her. She just looked at the two kits with narrowed eyes. The apprentice looked at the other apprentice, she particularlly didn't like kits. Sandpaw couldn't understand why the apprentice would be in charge of two kits. She felt like the leader would make her focus on her training. But Sandpaw wasn't really going to question the leader. She would have but she remembered thinking about what Swiftspirit would do and she decided to keep her mouth shut about it. But she watched as the young she-cat brought the two kits out. And Maplepaw asked about the kits. The apprentice stood up and padded over, her voice loud as she said, "Morning Maplepaw, Creampaw." then she looked down at the kit with her blue eyes and with a look of disgust on her face. She didn't want this kit touching her. Then she said, "You know most cats are excited to be apprentices so they don't have to deal with squealing kits and having to be stuck in camp all day. Unlike you it seems."
Then the large ginger she-cat just flicked her tail and smirked at the other apprentice.

L E O P A R D H E A R T The gentle breeze broke through the warrior nest entrance almost immediately hitting Leopardhearts back. As a newer warrior his nest lay in the perimeter of the den leaving him in a warm place that was often disturbed by a cool breeze that managed it's way through the den. His long tail was pressed against his nose as his body curled tightly to fit in the nest a little bit too small to fit his large body in a comfortable fashion. One of his paws hung over the edge of the dry moss with large claws brushing against the hard ground as amber eyes blinked open disturbed from his sleep by the loud voice of Sandpaw as the apprentice spoke in the camp clearing. Leopardheart lifted his head with long ears twitching slightly to figure out who the voices belonged to, but all he could make out was Sandpaws comments. The large tom let out a quiet sight as he pushed his body up into a sitting position opening his jaw in a loud yawn before walking slowly out of the empty nest. The light of the day hit his pelt showing his angular face with dark contours marking under his cheekbones and giving him a faint outline around his ribs. Large paws moved a few steps forward from the camp with eyes ignoring the cats huddled around the nursery while he sat down, reaching behind himself grasping at stray pieces of moss that had lodged themselves in his smoothed spotted pelt.
Leopardheart cared deeply for his appearance, his pelt was always smooth with a soft shine that appeared in the sun light. The tom dipped his chin so he could reach his chest, smoothing the ruffled fur from his sleep before lifting amber eyes to glance around the camp clearing spotting Sandpaw, Maplepaw and Creampaw sitting by the small Aspenkit. Leopardhearts eyes softened at the sight of the young cat, he was a friend of all cats but he adored kits feeling a constant need to protect them from the dangers of the outside world when he saw them out of the nursery. He padded over quietly to the group with his head held proudly until he was beside the cats, he seemed to tower over the apprentices with his already unusually large size forcing him to lower his gaze slightly to look at them. "A lot of cats enjoy the squealing of kits and new life in the camp, Sandpaw. It's a good sign that means strength for the clans." he replied to the comment that woke him up with a raised brow but a kind tone to his voice. "Good morning." he mewed, dipping his head slightly to the other cats glancing down at Aspenkit with a flick of his tail he spoke again, "How is our soon to be warrior?" he mewed softly at the kit, sitting down and pulling a long tail around his large paws.

Creampaw - 871 Words Tags: Maplepaw, Sandpaw, Leopardheart
It was nice to see that despite being raised by Creampaw the two kits were thriving. Not too long ago Creampaw herself had been consistently in trouble for one thing or another. She was always driving everyone insane and it seemed like she was consistently punished for her troublesome ways. Having to take on the responsibility of kits had settled down this apprentice, which no one would have guessed would happen. Creampaw had been quite wild and rambunctious, and close to reckless. But lately she had been thinking before rushing into things and was cautious about everything. It had been a struggle for the first quarter moon, but now it seemed as if Creampaw had it down. The she-cat knew that Juniperkit would be fine if she left him laying by himself, and knew that Aspenkit was the one to keep her eyes on. The kit was already showing similar traits to herself and that was the scariest part for the young apprentice.
It was only when she heard the greeting of a fellow apprentice that she looked up. ”Morning to you. They are doing quite well. Juniperkit seems to want to sleep the day away and I’m making sure to keep my eyes on Aspenkit today. After finding her trying to escape yesterday I’ve been having to watch her more carefully. How is training going?” Creampaw missed training, yes, but knew right now she was needed with the kits. If she could get these two to at least their fourth moon, she would focus more on training. Right now her sole focus was keeping these kits alive, and being two moons in she feels that she has done pretty well so far.
And then came Sourpaw….whoops Sandpaw. Creampaw had been fine with Maplepaw, the she-cat was quite friendly, but the second that Sandpaw came and began to talk about her kits she inssiennatly had her fur fluffed out. Her eyes narrowed as she listened to the other apprentice speak. No one spoke about her kits like that and got away with it! Or make fun of her decisions. If Sandpaw wanted to be negative about the kits, she wasn’t going to do it in front of them. They were too young to listen to this. ”I suggest if you have anything else to say that isn’t nice and chipper that you move along. And unlike you, it seems that I value responsibility and family more than I do pathetic insults to other apprentices and kits. So if you want to keep up the snide comments and the disgusted glares to my kits then go find some other things to do. I hear the elders need some ticks removed. Maybe your mouth could be put to some use other than making fun of innocent kits.” the cream furred apprentice hissed, ready to unsheathe her claws at the other apprentice. It really was as if the she-cat had turned into a queen and thought of the kits as her own.
It seemed as if someone else was looking after her. At the sound of pawsteps, Creampaw turned and saw Leopardheart. She smirked at Sandpaw at the words Leopardheart said, maybe that would wipe that dirty look off her face after hearing it from a warrior. She grinned up at the tom, and her eyes gave him a quick thanks…not that the rest of her would in front of the others. ”Good morning. Glad to know that some people are okay with kits.” She couldn’t help but have another word in.
The second he spoke to her kit, a smile adored her face. He seemed to be so kind and gentle with them, despite his size. And not only that, but he took the time to talk about Aspenkit. The kit was huddled into Creampaw’s fur, not liking this Sandpaw cat, and trying to bury herself as far away as possible. Her eyes peeked out from her sister’s paws (which she was currently hidden under since her sister was sitting) as she heard a new voice and she blinked at Leopardheart. She let out a yawn and looked up to Creampaw. Maybe she would do all the talking, since she was still a little on the sleepy side. Her mind hadn’t even thought of any troublemaking yet.
Creampaw gave Aspenkit a few licks, to soothe her and sighed. Looks like she was going to be doing the talking for the kit. Then again, it probably was a good thing, it meant Aspenkit wasn’t awake enough to cause trouble just yet. ”Both of them are doing quite well. Aspenkit wanted to learn about the clan today, so I thought I would take her outside the nursery to see what clanlife was like, show her where we sleep and just how the clan runs in general. She’s generally not so shy, normally she would be talking your ear off, I think she’s still slightly sleepy.” Her eyes glanced one last time at her sister before she completed her apology to the tom. She rolled her eyes as she heard a large snore from her brother. He would be out for quite some time, and not even arguing would wake him up.

"No, I don't need your pity. You couldn't begin to unravel this need for life." I only wanted to carry out that promise, "and like a fool I truly believed it" somewhere deep down.
”Morning to you. They are doing quite well. Juniperkit seems to want to sleep the day away and I’m making sure to keep my eyes on Aspenkit today. After finding her trying to escape yesterday I’ve been having to watch her more carefully. How is training going?”
Maplepaw smiled cheerfully as she replied, "That's good to hear they're doing well. Aspenkit seems to be following rather closely in your footsteps." Her dark eyes glinted with amusement, knowing as well as any cat just how much of a trouble maker Creampaw used to be before she suddenly had heavy responsibilities. "Training's going well. Stormstar practices with me whenever he's got time." Maplepaw meowed with a neutral tone, betraying none of her occasional worries that Stormstar, being a leader and all, did not have time to train her as often as other mentors did. But she wasn't one to complain about the issues in her life to other cats.
"Morning Maplepaw, Creampaw. You know most cats are excited to be apprentices so they don't have to deal with squealing kits and having to be stuck in camp all day. Unlike you it seems."
Maplepaw turned her head as Sandpaw approached and mewed a greeting back at her. "Morning, Sandpaw." She noticed the way Sandpaw showed a look of disgust on her face at the sight of Creampaw's kits, though she didn't bother questioning it. It wasn't uncommon for some cats to dislike kits. Maplepaw herself wasn't a huge fan of them, but she didn't dislike them. The next thing Sandpaw meowed came out surprisingly scathing to Maplepaw, and she tensely glanced at Creampaw to see what would be the she-cat apprentice-queen's reaction. The other pale apprentice's fur was fluffed out defensively.
Maybe your mouth could be put to some use other than making fun of innocent kits." Was Creampaw's response in a perturbed hiss. If things got ugly, Maplepaw would do her best to keep claws from lashing out. But she herself wasn't usually the one to speak up in defense of other cats either.
Just then, movement was heard from the warrior's den, and Maplepaw flicked her gaze in the direction of the warrior Leopardheart. The large tom always looked just like what Maplepaw was told by the elders the cats of Leopardclan back in ancient history were like. And she could easily believe it. Leopardheart was probably the largest warrior Windclan had ever seen. Maplepaw felt a flash of pride that Windclan had a cat who could stare down the giants in Thunderclan eye-to-eye. She thought Thunderclan was almost like a freak show. Nearly all the toms in that musky old forest were huge for some weird reason. "A lot of cats enjoy the squealing of kits and new life in the camp, Sandpaw. It's a good sign that means strength for the clans. Good morning. How is our soon to be warrior"
The presence of Leopardheart for sure would be enough to keep the peace here, or at least provide a sure solution should any displaced comments lead to an exchange of claws and fur. ”Good morning. Glad to know that some people are okay with kits.” Creampaw meowed her feelings, and Maplepaw also felt a bit more at ease to have a warrior around to keep the peace through the power of authority and respect.
"Good morning Leopardheart." Maplepaw meowed with a respectful dip of her head. She was beginning to feel repetitive, meowing her greetings to every single cat that came by and said hi, but manners were manners. Maplepaw had to crane her neck far back to look at Leopardheart when he padded up to stand next to the apprentices and meow his greetings. All pride she felt for Windclan because they had a big cat like him aside, did he have to make it obvious he was big stuff? With a tiny flash of annoyance in her eyes, Maplepaw gave up looking the warrior in the face and turned her gaze back to the other apprentices.
"Both of them are doing quite well. Aspenkit wanted to learn about the clan today, so I thought I would take her outside the nursery to see what clanlife was like, show her where we sleep and just how the clan runs in general. She’s generally not so shy, normally she would be talking your ear off, I think she’s still slightly sleepy.” As Creampaw engaged in a friendly conversation with Leopardheart, Maplepaw wondered now what Sandpaw's reaction would be, seeing as apparently the sand-colored apprentice had supposedly lost this argument, or at least had more than enough good reasons to forfeit. Maplepaw tended to not join sides as long as she didn't feel an intensely strong bond to a cat, and was perfectly fine with waiting her turn and letting others take the spotlight and do all the chatter.

Post by Juniperkit on Nov 30, 2015 12:06:04 GMT -5
The small kit lay curled up in the large nest he shared with his mother and sibling, his tail was curled around his body with his nose pressing into it's darkly coloured tip. A cool breeze came through the entrance causing the kit to shudder slightly, open his eyes slowly and yawning before glancing around the nest for Creampaw. He blinked worriedly before jumping unsteadily to his paws to look for Aspenkit. "Aspenkit?" he whispered softly, staring around the den expecting the more confident sibling to appear with her usual self, trying to get Juniperkit in trouble with her adventurous nature. The small cat turned around in his shared nest worriedly, his face creased with concern and his tail twitching frantically until he heard voices from outside. Stepping gently onto the ground he padded quietly toward the nursery entrance, peaking out seeing multiple cats standing and talking. One had a voice that was unpleasant, they spoke with harsh words that were clearly nothing close to a complement, there was a calm voice, similar in pitch but speaking with kinder words. Then there was the deeper voice, powerful and low but filled with a stern kindness.
”Good morning. Glad to know that some people are okay with kits.” the voice of Creampaw made Juniperkits ears perk, as he saw the pale shape of the apprentice with his sister close by, finally recognizing the pair he was looking for. Without a doubt in his mind the kit slid out through the entrance and bounded toward the she-cat with a loud purr rumbling in his chest as he pushed into her side, nuzzling her. He was happy she hadn't gone off far from the nursery, afraid of being alone in the still unfamiliar camp. His purr softened as he sat closely to his mother looking at the cats surrounding them. A sand and calico she-cat similar in size to Creampaw, and a large intimidating tom the was the closest them standing in front of the three cats. He must be a warrior, and the two other cats must've been apprentices like his mother. Two of the three had kind expressions, while the sand coloured cat looked disgusted by the sight of Aspenkit and himself. Juniperkit glanced at his paws self consciously worried as to whether he had misbehaved and bothered the she-cat. "Wha's goin' on?" he mewed softly, his words slurred slightly from the left over grogginess of sleep. "Who're you?" his voice was quiet and cautious as he moved away from Creampaw, padding over to Leopardheart, making sure to stay away from the scowling cat.
"Who're you?" he repeated himself when he got closer in an innocent voice as he sniffed the large paws of the overgrown tomcat before him. "You a warrior?" he sat down, blinking up with wide eyes at Leopardheart before getting up and moving toward Maplepaw with the same innocent curiousity. "Who're you?" he questioned her as he did Leopardheart but with more confidence in his voice and movements as he poked her paw softly with his own, without asking her ranking in the clan the kit glanced up at Sandpaw before running back to Creampaw and Aspenkit, and pushing himself close to Aspenkit as he waited for his mother to do the rest of the talking.
