Leopardheart could remember the rough lick of her tongue against his paw, and he tilted her head. Even with her just caring for her siblings, she had the instincts of the queens in the nursery. He purred at the thought as he looked at her with kind eyes, "You know, earlier, I didn't hurt my paw at all." he purred with a laugh as he dug up his other catches pulling them out of the soft earth gently with a soft grasp around his furred neck. "I bet there will be plenty for the elders and queens. I bet even my two little ones will have a mouse to share!" he purred loudly at her words. He couldn't help imagine Aspenkit and Juniperkit ripping away at a single mouse as though it were a feast like when warriors managed to catch a plump rabbit for the clan and the grumpy elders thanking him and Creampaw lazily as they deliver their meals only to complain about their bedding being uncomfortable or thorn filled. He chuckled quietly to himself at the thought of the stiff cats and their determination to make every other cats life a pain in the tail.
Turning back to face her, he walked over leaving the small fresh kill pile sitting neatly beside the hole in the earth his tail twitching happily as he came closer he flicked her shoulder with his tail with a warm smile plastered on his face. "And just think. The two of us hunting together caught a lot. Maybe we should do this more often!" her words made his eyes widen for a brief moment. He couldn't believe she seemed to want to spend more time with him, they did work well as a team - clearly due to to the large amounts of prey caught between just the two of them. The clan would surely be pleased with them, and maybe they would encourage the pair to hunt together more often and it wouldn't seem like much of a chore if the she-cat actually liked his presence. He shook the thoughts away from his head, he was over analyzing once again but he was excited. He liked her, more than he expected, he was beginning to think he wanted her as more than a friend but his tail twitched nervously as he kept that idea to himself. "Well, I wouldn't say no. I can't see the clan disagreeing having their two, finest hunters getting enough prey to feed the elders and kits." he purred with a laugh and he sat down with a steady purr rumbling in his chest as he coiled his tail tightly around his paws, lifting one of them and licking it then brushing it past his ear, he could feel sap from the leaves and few trees he'd walked under, it stuck to his fur like blood and it made him uncomfortable.
"I really had fun, thanks for letting me go with you. You are probably the most fun warrior and I can't wait to share a den with you!" her words made his paw drop and his head shot up and the constant purr was silenced as he looked at her with wide eyes. His expression slipped into a wide grin, "Well, don't tell me what I already know, Creampaw." he grinned smugly and then laughed nervously. "I can't wait to see you in the warriors den too, once your kits around old enough I'm sure it won't be long before you get your name!" he mewed softly, "Look at how much you caught!" he gestured to her catches with his tail before getting to his paws slowly and walking back over to his three kills. "Uh, how're to get these all back?" he mewed, he hadn't thought it through, perhaps he could grip two of the creatures with his teach and hold another under his chin. He sighed, he didn't want to drag them all back to the camp. It would stop him from talking to Creampaw and who knew how long he'd have to wait to spend this amount of time with her again, she was raising kits and training to be a warrior. Perhaps she'd be too busy to spend time with him. He looked down at his prey with a sad expression, his back turned to her so she wouldn't see his solemn expression. Then, and idea came to him. "Hey, I want to help you out." he mewed softly, walking back over to her with his tail twitching nervously. "If you ever need someone to mind Aspenkit or Juniperkit, know that I'm always available for that. I love kits, and yours are no exception!" he purred softly hoping she'd agree.
He touched his nose to her ear before turning back to his kills. "We'd better try getting all of this stuff home." he purred his tail lashing back and forth and he grabbed the two rabbits by the neck, their skin stretched like scruffs as he tucked his thrush under his chin before he turned around. He knew he looked ridiculous with his chin pressed to his chest with a fat and thin rabbit dangling from his mouth and he bounded back over to her. "C'mon!" his mew was muffled and almost impossible to understand due to the rabbits. He turned tail and began to hare for the camp, his run in perfect form as though he were hunting to get optimum speed, his back arching and his legs extending with long steps with his tail held straight behind him, his paws barely touching the ground as he ran quickly back to the camp, the weight hard to carry and he breathed heavily through his nose until he reached the camp entrance. Walking toward the freshkill pile he walked back to the entrance, happy to have nothing weighing him down. She wouldn't have been far behind, she was smaller but still incredibly fast and it made him oddly impressed. He hadn't expressed her to be so skilled after all, she had been spending so much time in the nursery and she wasn't even a warrior! She truly was impressive in his eyes. When she appeared in front of him he purred softly, "Would you like to share one our catches?" he mewed softly.
