It was the break of evening and Howlingstar padded into the camp through the entrance, his head and shoulders held high in pride. Behind him followed a not much smaller young tom, Emberpaw, who was Howlingstar's firstborn son. The fluff orange and white apprentice had grown like his father, broad shouldered and quite large in size. Howlingstar had just taken the warrior Batwing's apprentice out on a warrior assessment, and he knew it was past time for Emberpaw to have received his warrior name. He immediately trotted straight to the Highledge, leaving Emberpaw to drop his large catch of prey on the fresh-kill pile before joining the others. With a rush of air, Howlingstar leapt effortlessly up onto the Highledge and turned to face the clearing and the faces of curious turned heads who quickly noticed something was about to happen. "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey join here beneath the Highledge for a clan meeting." He yowled the traditional words that began a clan meeting.

The day had gone by very quickly for the young warrior. After her patrols had finished, she had flopped herself in a sunny spot in the clearing and was pretty much just letting the sun soak into her light orange fur. Her head popped up and she opened her bright blue eyes at the sound of shuffling from the clan entrance. She watched curiously as Howlingstar and his son, Emberpaw came into the camp. Immediately, Howlingstar took to Highrock and the apprentice dropped his kill on the pile. Appleheart noted that it was an approvingly large catch. Putting two and two together, it was no surprise when the leader called them to the center of the clan for a meeting.
One by one, the warriors made their way to the rock, tails and ears high and alert. The ginger and white she cat was no different, taking a few paces forward and sitting about five or so lengths from the rock. Her ears were on the leader, but her eyes were on the orange and white tom whom she was almost certain was about to earn his warrior name. She could remember when he was just a tiny scrap of fur and now, he was almost as large as his father. It took the warriors breath away, to be quite honest. There was no better feeling than watching the youngest members of the clan grow and walk beside them as full warriors.
With her thoughts in an emotional bunch, Applepelt forced herself still. Her tail wrapped around her paws and her eyes floated to the Highrock to look at the leader, awaiting the ceremony to begin.

LONGTAIL x - kit - apprentice - warrior - x
The white she cat lay basking in the sunset near the fresh kill pile, her long brown tipped tail twitching slowly with contentment, her deep blue eyes were half open - vaguely aware of the movement in the camp. She had spent a lot of her time patrolling and hunting lately, the large amounts of prey making almost every hunt a successful one and it was always a satisfying feeling when you drop large amounts of fresh kill on the pile.
The silence was comforting, the sound of paw print padding softly through dens and out the bramble entrance of the camp, the sandy ground on the clearing was comforting in the warmth but the fragile silence was broken with the entrance of the clan leader, with paws leaving harsh vibrations through the ground as he pounced and landed, Longtails head lifted instantly, his speckled ears twitching at the noise, her eyes following the apprentice toward the freshkill pile and she instantly knew why a meeting was called.
"About time you were made a warrior." she mewed bluntly; aware of Emberpaw's skills that were equal to that of a warriors. Pulling herself up onto her paws until she was equally balanced and proceeded to shake the dust out of her fur. Walking softly toward the leader perched on the higher ground the she-cat sat, pulling her brown tip tail around her paws loosely with her gaze locked onto Howlingstar as he spoke.

Emberpaw followed after his father, matching him pawstep for pawstep. He couldn't hide the way he walked into the camp with his head proudly held high, before padding over to drop his catch on the fresh-kill pile. Howlingstar had told him after today's assessment that his warrior ceremony would be held as soon as they got back, and Emberpaw's heart pounded with excitement. Six long, rigorous moons of training with his tough mentor, Batwing, had prepared him for this day, and his entire life of consciousness since birth, watching the other warriors protecting and serving Thunderclan, and been looking forward to this day.
Emberpaw began to hurry when he heard Howlingstar call a clan meeting, and quickly dropped his prey and trotted up to the base of the Highledge. He turned his head as he heard Longtail bluntly mew, "About time you were made a warrior." Emberpaw couldn't suppress a purr rumbling up in his chest, and nodded gratefully to the white speckled warrior. He took a seat eagerly at the front of the crowd of gathering Thunderclan cats and waited for Howlingstar to begin the ritual, every second feeling like forever as the entire clan made its way into the clearing.

Hailpaw was just done finishing his chores, padding out of the elders den his large white ears flicked to the movement on the high ledge as he noticed the large form of Howlingstar up there. Would it be happening? He knew that Emberpaw was supposed to be made a warrior any day now and the six moon old tom had just been made an apprentice so it would be nice to have the large tom out of the apprentice den because there was no space left. There were a lot of apprentices when he joined their ranks. But he enjoyed every minute of his apprenticeship so far. Though after another half moon the white tom might think differently. He just then waited his clear blue eyes focused on he leader as his powerful voice rang out the noise bouncing off the rock cliffs of the camp. Hailpaw just moved his paws quick to get a decent spot. But then he stopped and watched the large tom Emberpaw move forward quickly making his way up to his father. Hailpaw just blinked his eyes and watched the other tom. He was so ready for his day where he became a warrior. He looked at Howlingstar and wondered slightly what his warrior name would but. Thats when he heard the voice of his mentor that snap him out of his thoughts.
His plume like tail flicked as he padded closer to the other warriors that were gathering. None of the apprentices other than Emberpaw had emerged yet. The new apprentice then spotted the his mentor near the front but he didn't want to sit by her. Because well the warrior had to deal with him all the time she probably needed a break from him. So the new apprentice then padded to the edge of the crowd squeezing his way to the front the white tom then sat down and curled his tail around his paws. His clear blue gaze went up and watched the leader as he spoke. Then he looked back down at the older apprentice his face didn't show any excitement for the tom. But his brain was soaking in every moment of this while he sat there. Almost trying to guess what the apprentice's new warrior name would be.

Rainkit – 298 Words – Tags: All TC
It had been six moons of being stuck in the nursery, and almost a quarter moon since her other siblings had been apprenticed. She had been too depressed and had not been strong enough at the time to be apprenticed like her three siblings. It hadn’t been too long to prior than that moment that her parents had died and her oldest brother had taken over the group of kits, and the one to take it the hardest had been Rainkit. She had been stuck to both parents at all points of the day and was hardly away from them. But Rainkit didn’t complain when they were apprenticed, no she had given them a brief smile and it hadn’t occurred to her that she would be alone. Thankfully her siblings were always visiting her and she didn’t feel too lonely. Maybe now was her time to join them.
The bubbly she-cat had tumbled out of the nursery, almost landing flat on her face as she heard the summonings of the leader. She wanted to see what was going on and that was hard to do from inside the nursery. Rainkit grinned wide and spotted her siblings, rushing over to them and purring at the sight. But even if she wasn’t ever apprenticed, this would be one cat that could find the innocence in every situation. She would just take it as it came, no blame on anyone or anything. She never had high expectations, and the only time this cat had ever been sad in her entire life was the day her parents were killed. She bounced back not too long after, but all those emotions had been pushed back. So at the moment, being with her siblings was a good enough treat, eyes casted upon the leader.

Pumpkinflower slowly emerged from the nursery at the loud call of Howlingstar's clan meeting. At the sight of Emberpaw sitting under the high rock she knew he was going to be made a warrior today. Pumpkinflower's heart started to glow with pride for Emberpaw. Howlingstar had been hinting for the past few days that Emberpaw was going to be made a warrior soon and she couldn't have been more prouder of Emberpaw. She knew her son was more than ready to be made a warrior.
She made her way from the back of the back of the cat's gathered toward the front so she got a good view for his ceremony. Quietly, she leaned toward him to give him her blessing because she knew the moment he was made a warrior he would be swarmed with well wishing and congratulations. "Your father and I are so proud of you, Emberpaw and Pinekit and Foxkit are lucky to have you for a big brother.." She purred softly, giving his ear a swift lick before returning to her seat off to the side.

"I hear the wind callin' my name. The sound that leads me home again. It sparks up the fire, a flame that still burns. To you, I will always return.
Howlingstar calmly watched the rest of the clan beginning to gather below the highrock. He always noticed which were all but eager to rush to be the first, and which took their time. Some had a favorite spot to sit in the clearing, and some just joined the crowd. Some cats always had to be at the front, some liked the middle, and some preferred the back. He also witnessed who was pretty friendly with who by the way some went directly to others to sit beside and meow a friendly greeting, whether it be out of close friendship or simply out of overall friendliness and kinship with others of the clan. They were all great cats.
His large, pointed fox-like ears heard Longtail's comment, and he understood that many of the other cats had awaited the fluffy ginger apprentice's ceremony. He was so big, so like his father, the leader of the clan, that it was almost hard to believe he had been an apprentice until this day, and Emberpaw's abilities as a warrior were well on par with any other exceptional fighter. Although he knew that Emberpaw could hardly wait to be made a warrior, there was one important task Howlingstar would have to complete first, and it would be smoother to have Emberpaw's ceremony last. Rainkit was now six moons old and ready to be apprenticed to a mentor.
Howlingstar looked huge upon his perch at the edge of the Highledge, like a lion clutching at the tips of a narrow boulder as he proudly looked down upon the rest of his beloved clan which he would not hesitate a single instant to give all of his lives for. As always, his heart began to beat happily at the sight of his beautiful mate, Pumpkinflower, emerging from the nursery with their two kits, Foxkit and Pinekit, to watch the ceremonies today that were the two most exciting checkpoints of a clan warrior's life. He gave her a warm smile as she came towards the front to greet to Emberpaw before returning to supervise her kits.
When all the cats had gathered and laid countless pairs of eyes on him expectantly, while occasionally casting a few glances or greetings Emberpaw's way, Howlingstar nodded and raised his head, indicating he was going to begin speaking again. "I know many of you have guessed what is about to happen." He started off with a friendly glance in Emberpaw's direction. "But before we finish this meeting with that, there is another important ceremony I must conduct." Howlingstar purred as if he were giving an early congratulations and cast his amber gaze on one of the kits in the clearing, Rainkit. The poor she-cat had seen her siblings get apprenticed almost a quarter moon before, but her own ceremony had been delayed because she wasn't fit to begin her own apprenticeship yet due to many unfortunate circumstances.
"It is time for Rainkit to be made an apprentice." Howlingstar looked back up as he spoke to the rest of the clan, then he returned his attention to Rainkit and began the traditional words used for her ceremony. "Rainkit, you have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Rainpaw. Your mentor will be Fireflower. I hope Fireflower will pass down all she knews on to you." Howlingstar easily picked out Fireflower from the crowd of cats, who had stood up from her seat in the middle and began walking towards Rainpaw. He locked gazes with her blue eyes and meowed, "Fireflower, you are ready to take on an apprentice. You had received excellent training from Bananatail, and you have shown yourself to be nearly unmatched in the art of hunting as a Thunderclan warrior. You will be the mentor of Rainpaw, and I expect you to pass on all you know to Rainpaw."

Cherryberry - 646 Words Tags: Everyone in TC Notes: Sorry she's late, had to throw her in
It seemed as if some jobs were neverending, while others could be finalized in mere minutes. As the seconds ticked by, it seemed as if this job would be one that would be a neverending job. Cherryberry had awoken early, about her normal time, and saw her sister had been glaring at her. Sure, the she-cat never cared about her sister anymore, or wanted anything to do with her, but for her sister to be glaring this hard something had to be going on. Both she-cats were extremely stubborn and had refused to talk to each other. In fact, Cherryberry’s sister had been trying to talk to her for the past quarter moon and it was becoming annoying to the red furred she-cat. Why now? She didn’t care before.
And that was the start of Cherryberry’s morning and went into the afternoon. Her sister had said something to her and the two siblings had gone out of camp. Cherryberry had always been jealous, somewhat, of Heatherfeather’s ability to charm anyone and everyone, including their parents. But Cherryberry had too much pride to admit this. So when it came time for Heatherfeather wanting something, Cherryberry was actually slightly curious. With all of the bad blood between them, she had to know why her sister would want to even acknowledge she existed. They were better off ignoring each other. Emotions in general were still a bit difficult for this she-cat, the lack of parenting and the constant disappointment she gave her parents were still in the corner of her mind.
When Cherryberry returned to camp, she had noticed a ceremony was in progress. She had not meant to be gone that long, but Heatherfeather had dropped some huge baggage on her, so much that she had to walk around the territory to clear her head. Their parents were leaving the clan. She knew her sister wasn’t lying because Heatherfeather was devastated and the other she-cat was taking it out on Cherryberry. The two had a verbal fight, and many harsh things were said on both sides. Now, the deputy was exhausted from the mental side. Her parents were leaving the clan because they didn’t want to listen to their good-for-nothing daughter who was just a waste of space anyway. They couldn’t stand to look at Cherryberry anymore and see her succeed. It was the wrong daughter that was in the high position and they had wanted all of that for Heatherfeather. Cherryberry was just suppose to be a regular warrior who never would be loved or get any attention. Maybe it would be a good thing for her parents to leave the clan, she would no longer have to worry about them and constantly looking over her shoulder. Cherryberry was so stressed over making tiny mistakes because tiny mistakes were what her parents had lived and breathed on, and which was part of the reason she never relaxed or was social with other cats.
Not wanting to interrupt or really see any cats at the moment, she sat toward the back as she watched an apprentice ceremony. Now this is what the clan needed, more apprentices and more warriors. Maybe this would be a good enough distraction for her and she could forget all of her failures for a moment. It would also give her time to take a deep breath and just stop having all the gears turning in her head. But would her outward appearance show the turmoil she was facing inside? Never, Cherryberry just took her normal stance of looking and staring harshly, and thinking of what she could do after the ceremony. There were apprentices to feed and create fresh bedding for the elders and queens, so that was one task she wasn’t needed for. She could always go hunt some birds…use their feathers for additional bedding and the kill could be for food.

"Heroes and thieves at my door, and I can't seem to tell them apart anymore. "Just when I've figured it out," Darling it's you I'm without.
Fireflower was waiting for this day. Rainkit was of age, and Howlingstar had told her she would take on her first apprentice. She was truly honored to be picked to be a mentor. When she heard the ceremonial greeting call, she was over near the fresh-kill pile with a few other warriors, sharing tongues and chatting. She quickly jumped to her paws and trotted over, taking a seat at the front, but near the edge of the crowd. She had noticed Howlingstar returning to camp as well with Emberpaw, and knew what that meant. Fireflower guessed there would be two ceremonies today.
She left Emberpaw to drop off his prey on the fresh kill pile, giving him a nod of warrior's approval. All the cats gathered rather quickly, eager and pleasant as the mood, though Greenleaf was nearing its end. The abundance of prey put everyone in good spirits, even with the apprehension of a glorious battle with Shadowclan to win their territory back. Fireflower smiled warmly at the parental affection between Emberpaw and his stepmother, Pumpkinflower who was nursing two of Howlingstar's kits. As Howlingstar began the meeting, her prediction was on point that he would hold two ceremonies today. Fireflower listened to the traditional words of an apprentice ceremony as they were spoken, putting on a poker face so as to not give it away that she knew she would mentor Rainkit. She wondered if it would come as a surprise to the other clan cats that she would be getting her first apprentice.
When her name was spoken, Fireflower's ears perked and she straightened up high with her chin calmly in the air as eyes began to cast her way. As the next step of the ceremony, Fireflower got up and stepped forward in front of the clan at the base of the Highledge, gazing respectfully up at her leader with shining blue eyes. "Fireflower, you are ready to take on an apprentice. You have received excellent training from Bananatail, and you have shown yourself to be nearly unmatched in the art of hunting as a Thunderclan warrior." Fireflower glowed with pride at the praise from her leader. She knew he was aware of how proud she was of her skills at hunting. "You will be the mentor of Rainpaw, and I expect you to pass on all you know to Rainpaw." Howlingstar finished.
Fireflower dipped her head and purred, "I am honored, Howlingstar. I will do my best as I do for the clan.." She turned and searched the crowd for Rainpaw, spotting the bright silver spotted tabby she-kit who had been slightly late in her apprenticeship due to an unfortunate event. Fireflower flicked her tail tip with a smile on her face, beckoning the newly made apprentice to come on up.
