The white and silver tabby tom was shocked by Yellowivy's words. The deputy's pale eyes had been completely serious and that threw him off. He stood there frozen until she turned around and continued to speak, mentioning them to follow with a flick of her tail. It was then that he realized there had been sarcasm in the brown tabby's voice. Cloudfang shook out his fur before trotting after her. When the other tom greeted him, Cloudfang turned his smile toward the spotted warrior. "Hello Leopardheart." He purred and chuckled as Mintfeather scooted between the two toms. He tapped her back with the tip of his tail. She gave a mrrow of annoyance before laughing. The silver warrior looked up when Yellowivy spoke again, saying his name. He noticed that the trees had gotten really close and his pale blue eyes gazed at the clan border. Opening his mouth, he tasted the air for any scent of a patrol. He didn't scent any but that didn't always mean anything. Cloudfang nodded and gave the other two warriors a smile before following after the deputy. He padded up to the border and scented again. It didn't seem that Thunderclan had crossed, which he was thankful for. The silver and white tom marked the border, glancing over into the forest, looking to make sure there weren't any cats watching them. Mintfeather slipped between the two toms, rubbing her fur against her brother with a gentle push. He ran his tail down her spine, making her shiver. The off-white she-cat mrowwed in annoyance but she couldn't stay like that for too long with him. The spotted warrior laughed. She had been watching the forest get closer, the sparse trees on their side of the border along with the forest beyond. She didn't scent anyone at the moment. Yellowivy spoke, saying that they would split up, Cloudfang would go with her while Leopardheart and Mintfeather would mark the border together. The she-cat sighed slightly before smiling at Leopardheart. "Thunderclan cats aren't too far away from here I think." The tom said and Mintfeather opened her maw once more. She nodded, confirming this. She could smell cats from the other clan, stronger than the border. The warrior marked the border and then looked at Leopardheart. He was scenting for something, what she wasn't sure. She had just started to open her muzzle again when he spoke yet again. Mintfeather purred at the thought of hunting. "I doubt she would mind." Her jaws parted and she took in the scent of rabbits, along with the sounds of them. "I think there might be two. Why don't we both try for one?" All of a sudden two bodies with bobbing tails shot away from where they had been hiding. One came toward them and Mintfeather took off after it, pale green eyes glinting. When it saw her, it took off in another direction, parallel with the border but a good two tail lengths from it. The other rabbit went toward a hole in the ground, farther in the Windclan territory. Mintfeather didn't have time to think of that one, but she hoped that Leopardheart would go after it and catch it. The she-cat followed her rabbit, steadily gaining on it. She was so focused on it, that she didn't notice how close they had gotten to the border. Mintfeather was in pouncing distance quickly enough and she took her chance. Her prey turned slightly just as her front legs lifted off the ground, so she made up for it by pushing off harder with on of her paws, so she would turn toward where the rabbit was going. Mintfeather landed on the rabbit, breaking its back and giving the fatal blow to it's neck as her jaws closed around it. She stood up, triumphant, and turned her green gaze toward Leopardheart to see how the younger warrior did. The spotted white she-cat noticed the spotted tom and her eyes widened as she noticed how far away she was. She also quickly noticed, with the bombardment of smells, that she had crossed the border. By a tail-length. Grabbing a hold of her prey to take it back over quickly, she caught sight of movement in her periphery. The small she-cat gasped as she turned her head. She froze. "If we hold on together," I know our dreams will never die. "Dreams see us through to forever," where clouds roll by for you and I.
"Good catch. You have really come along, Emberstrike. When we get back, I'll ask Howlingstar about you leading your own patrol." Emberstrike beamed at Lionclaw's praise like an apprentice being told he did a good job. It could even have been a little habit he would eventually grow out of now that he was a warrior, since he was only an apprentice a couple sunrises ago. His chest fur stuck out with pride.
"Thank you, Lionclaw." He meowed gratefully. His excitement was contained within his fluffy appearance, but he looked forward to the day he'd lead his own patrol and the honor he would feel then.
Emberstrike turned his head to see Lionclaw's own apprentice, Spottedpaw, rejoining them to show off her catch while she ate it. He watched Lionclaw applaud his apprentice. "Great catch, little one. Before long, you'll be the best hunter in the clan."
Emberstrike also nodded his approval of the young apprentice's successful hunt. He wondered why she went to the trouble of delicately picking the meat off the bones of her mouse and burying the carcass instead of just munching down the entire mouse whole like most other warriors, but he guessed she probably just wasn't a fan of the bones, even though a cat's jaws were strong enough to crush mouse bones like tiny twigs. "All done here, Lionclaw. Ready to go make sure those rabbit-loving cats haven't crossed our border! I'll tear their fur off if they dare cross it; we won't lose anymore territory with our warriors! No clan has a chance against us." Emberstrike gave a purr of amusement at the apprentice's enthusiasm and mewed agreement.
He was slightly envious of Lionclaw, getting to mentor an apprentice so early in his life as a warrior. He hoped that he could soon have a chance to impress his father as well as Lionclaw and the other senior warriors, and then maybe he would get his own apprentice to be responsible for. With a flicker of happy excitement, he really hoped he would be picked to mentor one of Pumpkinflower's kits, his half-siblings. Maybe Lionclaw and him together would get to mentor Pumpkinflower and his father's kits. "Rabbit isn't so bad, I happen to like it." Emberstrike heard the black and white she-cat, Hiddenleaf purr teasingly. He also personally liked how rabbits had a little more meat on them than mice which were just a mouthful for him.
"Hiddenleaf is right, rabbit is delicious and juicy. Plus, it's the best. So, now everyone has eaten. Let's get back to the patrol." At Lionclaw's added comment, Emberstrike happened to remember the one tidbit fun fact about his clanmate that the golden warrior loved the taste of rabbit. But no cat could even think of teasing a large, heavyset tom like him for being anything similar to a Windclan warrior for his preferences in prey. Emberstrike witnessed Lionclaw also burying his bones, and theorized that maybe Spottedpaw had gotten that picky habit from her mentor. Emberstrike was on his paws and following closely after Lionclaw, eager to get going again. He still had a burning goal to show off what a good warrior he could be, but he was also known for being a quiet tom.
Lionclaw began giving them commands, first to Spottedpaw and then to Emberstrike. "Spottedpaw, I want you to mark the territory, little one. You can mark the next one." Emberstrike nodded, his tail raised high with the satisfaction that he would have a crucial job on this patrol. Emberstrike padded onward behind Lionclaw as Spottedpaw paused to do as was her mission given by her mentor, when he suddenly raised his hackles and began to part his jaws, showing his teeth. He had scented Windclan, and it wasn't the usual markers they could all smell strongly at the borders. This scent was fresh and from a living cat. Emberstrike gave a glance at Lionclaw to see if he had sensed it too, then he began to scan the border from where Lionclaw's patrol walked, camouflaged by the thick trees. Sure enough, a Windclan patrol was out and hanging near the border.
Emberstrike's amber eyes turned to slits as his vision locked onto the cats in the patrol, which included the Windclan deputy, Yellowivy, an extremely large warrior who looked to be the spitting image of what elders described of the cats of ancient Leopardclan, known to the clans as Leopardheart, and two other warriors, Mintfeather and Cloudfang. He couldn't quite tell if they were on a hunting patrol, but he guessed so when Mintfeather and Leopardheart began to chase a couple rabbits. Well, as long as they didn't cross the border, Emberstrike wouldn't have to do anything, but if a single Windclan cat stepped over the scent markers, Emberstrike would be duty-bound by the Warrior code to--
Just then, Mintfeather's completely focused chase upon her prey veered dangerously close to Thunderclan's border. Emberstrike's muscles went rigid as he took an aggressive step forward, his tail beginning to lash. If the silver spotted hunter crossed, it would be his chance to impress Lionclaw as a warrior for the first time...! Then almost impossible to believe, like as if his dark prediction had come true, Mintfeather was too blinded by her prey instinct to notice that she was tearing across the border, running straight towards Lionclaw's patrol. With a low snarl, Emberstrike immediately reacted, the fire he had been burning in his mind unleashed. His desire to impress the other warriors and his father today on his first border patrol filled him with aggression and blocked out all other reason.
Emberstrike tore through the undergrowth with the ease of experience in his own territory, leaping over where he knew the ground was unstable with a single huge bound, like a flaming lion. By now, Mintfeather had caught her rabbit...but on Thunderclan territory!! Emberstrike leaped out from behind a thick clump of bracken, and with a loud screech of fury, crashed into the frozen she-cat with all of his weight plus the power of his launch. His huge white fluffy paws unsheathed powerful claws and raked mercilessly into the body between his forearms as his jaws reached for a vulnerable limb to bite.

S P O T T E D P A W "Great catch little one. Before long you will be the best hunter in the clan." a purr rumbled deep in the small cat's green eyes as she gazed up at her mentor with pure admiration white her long tail twitched excitedly at the top. Her head tilted as her clan mates agreed that rabbit was great, "I never even had rabbit!" she mewed with a laugh. Spottedpaw loved her clan and the cats in it, she enjoyed the general banter that seemed to flow so naturally between warriors and apprentices, to kits and elders. She padded along cheerfully near by Lionclaw until she was given orders to mark the territory, the spotted cat ran off in her normal bouncy way dashing by Emberstrike as she did so, pushing through green bushes to get to the borders marker. After marking it, her head lifted as the sound of paws hitting the ground as though the creature creating the noise was chasing something. The apprentice opened her maw slightly in an attempt to scent the air only to realise with faint annoyance that the wind was against them. She pounced out of the bush looking around frantically for Lionclaw, Hiddenleaf and Emberstrike to see if they were still there waiting for her.
Her head turned quickly as she watched Emberstrike with incredible speed a loud noise echoing from him as he moved swiftly toward a cat hunched over her catch. The apprentice watched in shock, she had never expected a cat to have crossed the border and was surprised how quickly the calm atmosphere changed to one of battle. Her eyes caught sight of a more warriors across the border, probably as surprised as she was by the events now passing. "Lionclaw! There are more warriors on their side of the border," she mewed frantically to her mentor with her tail flicking from side to side displaying a mixture of nerves and excitement. She tried to make out who the warriors were but having never spoken to the Windclan cats at a gathering the only ones she knew were the deputy, leader and a few of the apprentices. She dashed forward, her long tail held straight behind her as her hackles raised followed by a loud hiss as she began backing up Emberstrike with ferocity. 'Maybe if I impress them, I'll be made a warrior earlier!' she thought with excitement, prepared to attack any cat that were sure to dare to take on the vicious Thunderclan patrol in battle to save their prey thieving warrior from their claws.

Hiddenleaf quietly obeyed Lionclaw's orders and followed along behind him and her two other clanmates. They were quickly approaching Windclan territory, and the large lion-looking tom told Spottedpaw that he wanted her to mark the next border. Hiddenleaf watched the apprentice's small shape disappear into the shrubbery, and as she waited a sudden scent of Windclan hit her nostrils. It wasn't uncommon to smell the other clan's scent next to their shared border, but this smell was from a group of cats very close to them. Emberstrike also seemed to smell this, his hackles were raised and his jaws were parted. The black and white she-cat was sure that Lionclaw smelled it as well. Hiddenleaf looked out to where the scents were coming from, and sure enough a group of Windclan cats were precariously close to the border. They seemed to be hunting, which was fine. As long as they didn't cross the border, of course. While she waited for Spottedpaw to finish up, the she-cat decided that she would watch the other patrol just in case.
A few of the cats had started chasing rabbits, and of course the rabbits tried to run off as fast as they could. The rabbit that one she-cat was chasing, who Hiddenleaf recognized as Mintfeather, began to veer very close to the Thunderclan border. The she-cat was too focused on her prey to notice when she had crossed the border. Hiddenleaf heard Emberstrike snarl next to her, and with a burst of very powerful muscles, he tore through the undergrowth towards the she-cat. The she-cat's instincts kicked in, her hackles raised and her tail poofed out to twice its size, growling loudly. However, she was torn. Should she go after Emberstrike and help him with the trespasser, or wait for Lionclaw to make a decision since he was the patrol leader? Wide eyes going back and forth, she decided to go help Emberstrike. Although he was big and strong, he was still a new warrior, and he wouldn't be a match against the whole patrol. Flashing down to where the tom was, Hiddenleaf watched as Emberstrike went after Mintfeather, who had already killed the rabbit. The she-cat unsheathed her claws and snarled at the Windclan cats, her leaf-green eyes aflame in anger, daring the other warriors to step a paw over the border.

Lionclaw watched his apprentice with pride as she vanished into the shrubbery to mark the territorial line. His gaze moving over the forest and breathed in deeply. Lightning slid down his spine as the smell of strong Windclan aroma assaulted his scent glands. His head followed the scent and saw the windclan warrior chasing a rabbit. He sat down, large tail wrapping around his larger paws as he watched her. A flick of movement and she passed the border. He felt Emberstrikes fur as the large but young warrior dashed at her and attacked as the warrior code demanded. Lionclaw saw his apprentice run out and simply watched her. She too went to help her clan mate. Lionclaw gave a playful smile as Hiddenleaf also charged into the fray. Standing up, the golden tom walked through the shrubs and pushed then aside with his massive shoulders. Coming onto the scene he sat down once more. "Emberstrike, enough. Just hold her, if she tries to escape than you can injure her. Spottedpaw, Hiddenleaf. Relax, breathe. Remember your training Spottedpaw. A fighter must think of every action before doing so or the reaction could be worse."
Lionclaw looked at the rabbit than the other warrior. "Mintfeather, good to see you outside of a gathering. I'm sorry it's under these conditions but you understand." his voice was smooth and calm, the lion like warrior was as calm as a gentle lake. His green eyes staring at Mintfeather than her clan mates across the border. Standing up he walked to the border line. A flick of his tail told hhis warriors to stand down. His forest gaze turned and looked at Mintfeather. "I saw Yellowivy, let's hope she is around hmm." his head swung back around as he looked at Cloudfang and ignored him. "Yellowivy." the tom sat down and waited like a gold statue. Sitting like he planned to wait till Starclan themselves rained down on the world. "You should pay more attention to where you're going in the future Mintfeather. Emberstrike, you did good!"

Yellowivy just stood there for a few moments her pale green eyes looking across the border and then noticed that Cloudfang padded near the border as well. The movement out of the corner of her eye made the medium sized warrior to move once again. Her mind back on what was going on right now. She just marked the border and then glanced over at the white warrior. He seemed to be scanning the undergrowth for Thunderclan. She just then padded along the border. Her mouth breathing in the scents at the border. It seemed that Thunderclan was staying on their side, which was good. Because Windclan was staying on their side as well. She hoped anyway, if she discovered that someone was crossing there would be an mercy. Thunderclan was jumpy at the moment. She just thought of the warriors she picked today and she was glad she didn't have an apprentice with them because that would have made it worse. She just then marked the border once again. After she felt good about her side of the border she headed back towards the meeting spot.
The yowl pierced her ears in an instant. Yellowivy just turned back towards the border her green eyes watched as the golden form of a warrior from Thunderclan was moving fast. She knew it was a hunting approach, the cat was on attack. Tasting the air Yellowivy tried to see what the warrior would be attacking but there was no smell but Windclan. She just narrowed her eyes and headed towards the direction that the warrior was moving. Upon arrival she noticed that there was a Thunderclan patrol there. A large ginger and white warrior had the pretty white and silver Windclan warrior pinned to the ground. She just narrowed her eyes, it was Mintfeather. On Thunderclan border, she just took a deep breath before headding down the hill slightly to get to the border. She saw Leopardheart near by and she was about to ask him what happened but thats when she heard a comment from a large golden warrior. "You should pay more attention to where you're going in the future Mintfeather. Emberstrike, you did good!" Yellowivy just narrowed her green eyes. She knew this warrior. He was quite young, a newer warrior but was getting to the age where he would start having more responsibilities. His name was Lionclaw, which made sense because the warrior was quite large and his golden fur stood out.
Yellowivy just padded up to the border and said calmly but there was a bit of harshness to her voice, "Lionclaw, Its not your job to order Windclan warriors, or tell them what they should do in the future. Thats my job." The tabby warrior just stared down the larger tom. She wasn't the cat to back down from a fight but she wasn't going to let Thunderclan order her warriors around either. She just then looked around at the other warriors that were around. Trying to figure out what happened here. She just then noticed the rabbit lying near Mintfeather. She just then Great, now I have to deal with this. The deputy groaned to herself. She just then looked back at the golden warrior her green eyes locking with his. She just said, "Release my warrior. I would not like to have a fight between our clans today Lionclaw." Her voice was calm and serious. She wasn't afraid of the large Thunderclan warrior and she never would be. She was the deputy after all and that was why Stormstar choose her to be his deputy. One day she would be a leader and she wasn't going any where until that happened.

Leopardheart nodded in agreement to Mintfeather, she was right in saying there were two rabbits. He turned his head his long tail curling at the tip as he dropped his jaw scenting the air for the rabbit ears perking as he caught the smell and dropped into a hunters crouch stalking the small grey creature as it scurried silently across the soft earth until he got close enough. His hind legs tensed before he pounced and began into his chase after the prey as it frantically ran away from him, he followed with incredible speed with paws light against the earth jaws bared as he was about to pounce with ears flicked back still aware of his surrounds. He jumped as his claws pierced into the side of the rabbit about to kill it quickly when he heard the cry from behind him, his head lifted alarmed loosing his grip on the rabbit his green gaze turning back to it as it ran away.
Leopardheart jumped to his paws as he ran with incredible speed that Windclan cats generally had, stopping at the border seeing Mintfeather cowering beneath Emberstrike looking as though she was attack, with Lionclaw standing close by along with Yellowivy. A frown painted across his face as he dashed across the border without a care, "Hey, whats going on here?" he mewed harshly. His kind nature seeming to fade away, Leopardheart was tired of the harsh vibes the Thunderclan cats have been giving out after their battle with Shadowclan; they had lost so of course they had a reason to be angry and sensitive, but they had just now attacked a clan mate which made Leopardhearts hackles rise, his claw unsheathing and digging into the soft earth hidden beneath lush green grass as he glared at Emberstrike with intense anger. "Let her go she didn't mean to cross the border," he hissed softly, "Anyway, the rabbit came from Windclan territory, no cat should be injured for a simple mistake, I'm sure none of you are free of mistakes." his eyes narrowed as he glanced at the Thunderclan cats.
The two toms were close in age to Leopardheart and the same in their large size though they both seemed incredibly eager to prove themselves, Lionclaw with an obvious new leadership position that came with leading a patrol wanting to do well with the new job, and then Emberstrike a new warrior of Thunderclan eager to prove his worth as a warrior. Leopardhearts tail lashed angrily as he glanced down at Mintfeather with sympathetic eyes, she didn't exactly look comfortable with obvious damage marking her body from Emberstrikes blow. Emberstrike had attacked with far too much strength for a simple mistake - it made Leopardhearts blood boil which was so unlike Leopardhearts usually kind personality who was never eager for a fight but right now he was angry, this was a horribly unnecessary situation that the two clans have gotten themselves into.

Mintfeather lost her breath when Emberstrike landed on her. He pushed her down with his front paws and clawed at her with his hind legs. When his claws ripped into her, she sucked in a breath and screeched in pain. The large tom then grabbed her left front leg in his jaws and she wasn't sure if he broke it or dislocated it, all she knew was that the pain was nearly unbearable. It took a moment before she finally realized that Emberstrike had stopped attacking her and was only holding her down now. "Mintfeather, good to see you outside of a gathering. I'm sorry it's under these conditions but you understand." She heard Lionclaw speak to her and she nodded slightly, not really able to do much more than that. The snow bengal she-cat winced when she heard Yellowivy's voice. She was only a tail length within the Thunderclan border, but that was bad enough. Especially since she was a seasoned warrior, she should of known better. And especially with her being in a patrol with Windclan's deputy. "I'm sorry Yellowivy." She said quietly, her throat bruised from when Emberstrike landed on her. Mintfeather heard Leopardheart come closer and she was sure he had crossed as well. "Leopardheart, go back. We don't want a fight."Cloudfang stood on their side of the border, his claws digging into the ground, his hackles raised, and eyes narrowed. He was normally a nice cat but with his sister being under attack, it was getting him all riled up. He knew to stay on their side of the border and when Leopardheart crossed the border, he tried to stop the young tom, hissing. "Leopardheart, get back here." It was killing him that he couldn't get Emberstrike off of his sister, especially with her being in pain, even though he could tell she was trying really hard to hide it. "If we hold on together," I know our dreams will never die. "Dreams see us through to forever," where clouds roll by for you and I.
Emberstrike's field vision was filled with the blood and writhing fur of his enemy. Behind him, he heard the sounds of his clanmates arriving to back him up, and ahead, he heard the angry calls of Mintfeather's clanmates. If they crossed the border too, then would he end up attacking them too? After all, a Windclan cat this day had hunted on Thunderclan territory, just one step worse than actually crossing the border. Even if the rabbit had come from Windclan territory, Windclan's hunters should have known better than to cross the border, much less execute any actions of hunting across the border. His muffled snarls were filled with the snapping of fallen twigs as he violently continued his onslaught of the Windclan she-cat beneath him. His instincts knew only to attack.
Until he heard the command of his patrol leader and a warrior whom he respected for him to cease. "Emberstrike, enough. Just hold her, if she tries to escape than you can injure her. Spottedpaw, Hiddenleaf. Relax, breathe. Remember your training Spottedpaw. A fighter must think of every action before doing so or the reaction could be worse." Still holding the Windclan hunter tightly within his claws and underneath his weight between his powerful forelegs, he stopped his attack. Lionclaw's next words threw Emberstrike off and confused him completely. "Mintfeather, good to see you outside of a gathering. I'm sorry it's under these conditions but you understand. I saw Yellowivy, let's hope she is around, hmm. Yellowivy."
The golden warrior's voice was calm and diplomatic, and Emberstrike wasn't sure what to think. He honestly doubted any sort of respectful apology between clans could forgive what had already just happened. He had fully expected this event to end with an exchange of claws, not diplomacy of all things, for what clan could possibly want to speak calmly to the cats who viciously attacked its clan-mate? Emberstrike looked at Lionclaw questioningly, beginning to wonder and worry if he had done the wrong thing. "You should pay more attention to where you're going in the future Mintfeather. Emberstrike, you did good!" But just when he thought he had made a terrible mistake, Lionclaw praised him, and again his chest expanded with pride, and he dipped his head gratefully.
Emberstrike's hackles rose defensively when new Windclan scents filled his nose signaling the arrival of more Windclan cats. So they had the nerve to cross the border after seeing what happened to their clanmate for breaking two laws of the warrior code, crossing the border and hunting on another clan's territory!? Emberstrike lashed his tail in anticipation for another fight, which he was more than happy to bring to the Windclan trespassers, and looked to Lionclaw for the signal to attack. But none came right away. His feelings of aggression were mixed with confusion as the cats of authority began speaking calmly and diplomatically, although the guarded hostility was felt in every word. The Windclan deputy, Yellowivy was speaking to Lionclaw, "Lionclaw, Its not your job to order Windclan warriors, or tell them what they should do in the future. Thats my job."
Emberstrike stared her down with the fierce amber eyes of his father. It's not your place to be standing on our side of the border either, Yellowivy. He thought, but would never utter such provocative words out loud. He flinched with barely suppressed aggression as Yellowivy continued, "Release my warrior. I would not like to have a fight between our clans today Lionclaw." Emberstrike did not budge. He flattened his ears as his gaze bore into the deputy. He would only take orders from Lionclaw. Emberstrike glanced to his patrol leader for Lionclaw's orders.
Yet another Windclan scent arrived, and Emberstrike couldn't hide the fury in his eyes that more Windclan warriors were crossing the border as if it wasn't there and didn't serve a purpose. How dare they... He growled in his mind. Leopardheart was a warrior who looked as if he were a direct and pure descendent of the legendary LeopardClan from the most ancient of historic tales, and if Leopardheart had been introduced to Emberstrike as such, he wouldn't doubt it. Not to mention the leopard-spotted warrior, though leaner and more wiry than almost any Thunderclan warrior, had legs so long he was about as tall as Emberstrike and Lionclaw. Emberstrike's fur stood out on end. He would make sure that in every way, he looked bigger and stronger here. He would never show weakness to a rival clan, especially not one whose warriors were wrongfully trespassing. Emberstrike met the tall spotted warrior's furious glare with his own burning gaze from where he was, still holding Mintfeather down, as Leopardheart hissed, "Let her go she didn't mean to cross the border. Anyway, the rabbit came from Windclan territory, no cat should be injured for a simple mistake, I'm sure none of you are free of mistakes."
"I take orders only from my own clanmates." Emberstrike was all too eager to hiss his stubborn thoughts in reply. He lashed his fluffed out orange tail from side to side.
He tensed, expecting Leopardheart to attack him for his words, and preparing for another fight. He was so worked up, he needed a real fight before his claws were satisfied. But then he heard a quiet, strained mew from below him. "I'm sorry Yellowivy. Leopardheart, go back. We don't want a fight." It was Mintfeather. Emberstrike began to realize that he really had done a job on Mintfeather; she wouldn't be a threat at all if he let her go, and even if she could escape back to her side of the border, it would only be for the best. But his pride and loyalty would never allow him to let go of her until Lionclaw gave the command. He had been ordered to hold the Windclan she-cat, and he would do so no matter what until given no other choice or ordered otherwise.

Spottedpaw looked at the Windclan cat trapped beneath Emberstrikes strength looking as though she was already in incredible pain just from the new warriors first attack. Pride fluttered briefly in her stomach at the thought of Thunderclan possessing some of the clans strongest warriors who were only ever loyal to their birth clan, she was proud of her clan in that moment - Although they had lost a battle moons ago, they would soon win many more in the future, she was confident of this. Her tail flicked in acknowledgment as Lionclaw approached, "Remember your training Spottedpaw. A fighter must think of every action before doing so or the reaction could be worse." Spottedpaw dipped her head as she was addressed, "Of course Lionclaw." she mewed calmly with an even glance at her mentor.
It wasn't that Spottedpaw didn't need anymore training but she was coming up on her eleventh moon with nearly five moons of training completed; she had hoped Lionclaw would've known how careful she was being having not attacked the Windclan cat but only backing up Emberstrike in his assaults. Her tail twitched in muted irritation, she wanted to be a warrior soon rather than later though her fighting skills could still use work, Spottedpaw believed herself ready. "Mintfeather, good to see you outside of a gathering. I'm sorry it's under these conditions but you understand." her mentors oddly kind words pulled her away from her thoughts making her focus on the injured she-cat who had just been identified to the apprentice. She had heard of the cat of course, enough knowledge had reached Spottedpaw of who every cat was at her last gathering to make her know of everyone, but not know what they looked like behind their names. She frowned slightly with a hard stare focused on Mintfeather until the sound of pawsteps met her eyes. Her ears swiveled as she looked up seeing the Windclan deputy, Yellowivy.
"Lionclaw, Its not your job to order Windclan warriors, or tell them what they should do in the future. Thats my job." Spottedpaw let out a quiet hiss at Yellowivy. 'How dare she tell Lionclaw what to do!' her tail lashed back and forth with anger, he hackles rising as she saw the third Windclan cat cross the border that separated the clans leaving one waiting at the edge. He was a large tom she recognized just from the description of him given to her by other apprentices, his name was Leopardheart and he was as large as the largest cats in Thunderclan with leopard like markings and a thin frame. Though he was not what she had expected, many had said he was as gentle as a mouse toward other cats with foolish belief of peace among the clans, he was fool in Spottedpaws mind, in more ways than one. Nevermind that he crossed the border, but he wanted less fighting! "I'm sure none of you are free of mistakes." the apprentice snorted at his words, he was making weak attempts at reasoning with the Thunderclan cats already, the warrior code had been broken and it wasn't just a 'mistake', it was a problem that needed to be solved. With three Windclan cats crossed the border, Spottedpaw was eager to prove how important the warrior code was to these rabbit chasing fur balls.
Spottedpaw dipped her head at Emberstrike as he declared his loyalty to Lionclaws orders only. Her head snapped back to the cat cowering beneath Emberstrike and with a smirk she glanced back up at Leopardheart, "Maybe you should listen to your friend and go back to your side of the border, Leopardheart." her voice was sweet laced with an underlying threat aimed at the large tom. She turned her head to look at Lionclaw, "What do you want us to do?" she whispered so only he could hear her words.
